UCL: Courtois criticizes teammates for Real Madrid’s defeat to Leipzig.
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has slammed his teammates’ performances after Real Madrid lost 3-1 to RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Leipzig punished Real for their sloppiness from the outset by scoring twice in the opening eighteen minutes, leaving Real justifiably down 2-0. Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper, was disappointed with his team’s performance for the entire 90 minutes.
After the break, Los Blancos attempted to pick apart Leipzig’s well-organized defence but were unable.

Timo Werner’s late goal made the score 3-1 for Leipzig. With a last-second penalty, Rodrygo salvaged his face, but the outcome accurately reflected the play of the defending champions.
Speaking post-match to Movistar, the Belgian pulled no punches in his assessment: “It is what sometimes happens to us. We went out asleep, without intensity and you pay for it. The coach warned us and it still happened.
”As a goalkeeper, you are noticing that we are not in the game. In many duels, we did not win. That happens in both goals, due to lack of intensity. We have to wake up.”
Before wrapping out their Champions League group stage campaign successfully against Celtic the following week, Los Blancos must make apologies in La Liga play against Girona on Sunday. The top spot in Group F is still up for grabs after the loss in Leipzig.
