Mbappe makes a future-related confession, prompting a PSG transfer reversal.
In reaction to rumours that he wants to leave PSG, the Paris Saint-Germain attacking player Kylian Mbappe appeared to retract earlier statements about his future at the club.
Kylian Mbappe has claimed he is ‘shocked’ by reports claiming that he wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January and insisted he is ‘very happy’ in the French capital.
Mbappe signed a new three-year contract at the Parc des Princes earlier this year. He initially refused to commit his future to PSG following suggestions of an exit. “For now, a second World Cup,” the France international recently said when quizzed on his alleged transfer request. “After that, I don’t know.”
Last week, shocking reports that the French superstar wanted to quit Paris Saint-Germain, just five months after signing an expensive new contract, forced his future back into the spotlight.

According to rumours, Mbappe feels deceived by the PSG leadership, which has led to considerable speculation—which the club is working to squash—that a transfer could be planned for the January transfer window.
However, the superstar striker has now moved to pour cold water on suggestions that he could be on the move anytime soon. In what appears to be a sharp U-turn from recent comments and reports, he has insisted that he is happy in the French capital.
“I’m very happy. I never asked for my departure in January,” Mbappe explained on French radio station RMC Sport, referring to the news that broke before his side’s Champions League clash last week against Benfica. “I was just as shocked as everyone else. There are people who may think I’m involved in this, but I’m not involved, I was taking a nap.
“My entourage was at my little brother’s game, all the people who take care of me weren’t there so we were flabbergasted when we heard about it. Afterwards, we had to deal with it, there was a game to play. Just to say that it is completely wrong, and I am very happy.”
