    • Zinoleesky and Moliy Clash on X in a Heated Exchange That Shakes the Afrobeats Scene

Nigerian street-pop star Zinoleesky and Ghanaian-American singer Moliy lit up social media on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, after an intense online exchange that quickly spiralled into one of the week’s most talked-about moments.

The drama began when Zinoleesky took a swipe at Moliy in response to a fan’s post, writing, “2-hit wonder… and I don’t even know the 2nd song @moliymusic.”

His remark spread like wildfire, instantly dividing fans and sparking a flood of reactions from across the Afrobeats community.

Moliy didn’t take the shade lying down. She clapped back with a cutting response that appeared to challenge Zinoleesky’s relevance beyond Nigeria: “Very grateful to not be known by you, artists that know me aren’t local champions.”

That reply was all it took to send X (formerly Twitter) into overdrive. Within minutes, timelines were flooded with memes, comparisons, and heated debates, as fans from both sides rushed to defend their faves.

Zinoleesky soon fired another shot, labeling Moliy a “Remix goddess,” a remark many interpreted as a jab at her past collaborations, before dropping a cryptic comment that fans speculated hinted at OnlyFans.

Though the dust has started to settle, the exchange has reignited conversations about the subtle rivalry between Nigerian and Ghanaian music acts and how social media often amplifies such tensions.

Despite the online heat, both artists remain in strong form career-wise. Moliy, who gained global recognition for her standout feature on Amaarae’s smash hit Sad Girlz Luv Money, currently boasts over 14.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Meanwhile, Zinoleesky, one of Marlian Music’s leading acts, continues to enjoy 2.3 million monthly listeners, with fan-favourite hits like Kilofeshe and Personal keeping him on the charts.

Whether this clash ends here or sparks a deeper rivalry remains to be seen, but one thing’s clear: when Afrobeats stars trade words online, the internet always pays attention.
