Zambia’s next big star, David Konda unlocks infectious groove, ‘Missing You’.
Rising singer, David Konda is back with his latest single, “Missing You.”
This emotional track captures the deep longing and pain of missing a loved one. Written during a time of separation, Konda expresses his sleepless nights and heartache with heartfelt lyrics: “My lover, my friend, I wanna see your face, I wanna feel your breath. I toss and turn, tears on my face, missing you every day, my heart is feeling pain, I can’t sleep at night.”
Despite facing severe load shedding in Zambia, which led to the closure of many studios, Konda took matters into his own hands and produced “Missing You” himself. The song features a laid-back beat and a stirring piano accompaniment that complement his soft vocals, enhancing the melancholy mood.
David Konda began his musical journey in 2008 at the age of 13, inspired by artists like Lil Wayne and the Nigerian duo P-Square. Over the years, he has developed a style that focuses on brooding love themes, often incorporating Caribbean genres like Kompa and Zouk.
Konda has shared the stage with some of Zambia’s top artists, including Yo Maps. A memorable moment in his career was when the crowd sang along to his track “Doing Better,” showing that his music was reaching a wider audience.
David Konda’s dedication and talent continue to shine, leaving fans eager to see what he will release next.
