Nigerian rapper Yung6ix has sparked controversy by calling out Afrobeats superstar Davido, claiming that the DMW boss is not on the same level as Wizkid, Olamide, or himself in terms of their rise to prominence in the Nigerian music industry.
In a video shared online, Yung6ix, now based in the USA, argued that Wizkid’s breakthrough came before Davido’s, followed by Olamide’s. He also placed himself ahead of Davido, stating that he had already established himself in the industry before Davido’s rise.
Yung6ix further questioned if OBO was “on Colorado” (a slang term often referring to a state of distraction or intoxication), while reaffirming his stance that Big Wiz, Baddo, and himself were trailblazers before Davido’s emergence in the Nigerian music scene.
His comments have sparked discussions among fans about the hierarchy of Afrobeats artists and their contributions to the industry.
