Multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer Udomboso John Saviours, popularly known as Young Jonn, has shared his battle with social anxiety disorder and how losing his mum, who had helped him in his mental health battles, had affected him for several years.

The music producer took to his social media page to reveal his experiences on mental health battle.

He discussed how much he has denied himself as a result of not expressing himself correctly as an individual.

He also disclosed how he is finally on the road to self-discovery, and how much he has become a better person.

    He wrote:

most of my life I been struggling with severe “social anxiety disorder” anyone that ever met me before can tell I was “extremely shy” and “highly introverted” It was a real battle , I deprived myself of so much I was entitled to just because it was so hard to open my mouth! The only word easy to say was “yes” my mum was a certified psychologist so she knew this was something bigger than “being shy” she helped me fight this silent battle through a long period of time and I was gradually getting better until we lost her to cancer 2017by this time I had already produced some of the biggest songs on the continent but I was “extremely shy” and never appeared at any award shows or ceremonies, couldn’t cope at large gatherings , could never hold proper conversations with strangers and was an akward social misfit

When I lost my mum in 2017, I crawled even deeper into my shadows and was practically no where to be found. several attempts by friends and work associates to meet up just seemed really scary and I stayed away from almost everybodytook months of therapy and medication to get back to being able to interact with people, gradually I started getting back in the studio and getting it together.

In 2019 I met someone that changed my life. my entire outlook on life changed like magic. I learnt how to hold proper conversations.I stopped being scared to socialize and meet people. It became very easy to be able to say exactly what was on my mind !since then I’ve gradually become better and I’m so happy for the point I am now, I still have a lot of work to do and a long way to go but I can definitely say I no more “extremely shy”may not seem like a big deal but this is a very big deal for me It’s been 8 years since my entry into the mainstream scene in 2014 and I can boldly say I’m only just getting startedi’m slowly and gradually rediscovering and renewing my real self and I can’t wait to show it to the world You’ll definitely be seeing much more of me from now on
