“You have no sense” – Singer Portable slams Nigerians for celebrating Super Eagles win against South Africa (Video)
In a new video, controversial musician Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, blasts Nigerians for celebrating the Super Eagles‘ victory over South Africa.
On February 8th, 2024, the Super Eagles of Nigeria made the nation proud by defeating South Africa in penalties, securing a spot in the AFCON final. Despite this achievement, Portable expressed disdain for the widespread jubilation among Nigerians, including celebrities who took to social media to celebrate.
Contrary to the celebratory mood, Portable slammed Nigerians for rejoicing over the Super Eagles’ win. In his view, he believes that many Nigerians lack sense for celebrating such victories, especially given the dire situation in the country.
The singer, currently in the UK shooting a music video with a British rapper, highlighted issues such as widespread hunger, poor infrastructure, environmental degradation, and the devaluation of the naira against the dollar.
Portable expressed disapproval of the energy used in celebration, arguing that it would have been better used to address issues and demand change by staging protests against President Tinubu’s government.
