Yemi Alade rubbishes comparison between self, Tiwa Savage
Yemi Alade, a well-known musician from Nigeria, dismissed any comparisons between her colleague Tiwa Savage.
The “Johnny” crooner was enjoying her performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) opening ceremony in Ivory Coast when a fan remarked on her X (previously Twitter) profile, saying she was better than Tiwa Savage.
Alade was unimpressed with the fan’s remark and encouraged him to celebrate and support them both, emphasizing that they are both “winning.”
Comparison, in her words, is “the thief of joy.”
The fan wrote, “U better than Tiwa [Savage].”
Yemi Alade replied: “Comparison is the thief of joy. We’re both winning…. celebrate and support us all.”
