World Cup: Hakim Ziyech sends warning to those who disregard Morocco.
Hakim Ziyech has issued a warning to those who are discounting Morocco, stating that they have a strong team capable of competing successfully at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Atlas Lions astonished the world on Sunday at Al Thumama Stadium with a 2-0 Group F victory over Belgium thanks to goals from Romain Saiss and Zakaria Aboukhlal in the second half.
Ziyech, who was awarded man of the match after providing an assist for the second goal, has highlighted Morocco’s possibilities at the international competition in the Gulf state as a result of the victory.

“We’ve achieved so much to be here but we still want to push on,” Ziyech said as quoted by the Chelsea website, adding: “We take things game by game but of course, you have to think big if you want to achieve something.
“We know that we are the underdog in most games but people shouldn’t underestimate us because we have a strong squad and we’ve shown that.”
With four points after the win, the Atlas Lions are now tied for second place in Group F with Croatia. Morocco has participated in the competition six times, first in 1970 and then in editions in 1986, 1994, 1998, and 2018.
Canada will be the final opponent for Morocco and Ziyech in their group on Thursday at Al Thumama Stadium.
