Wizkid’s ‘Morayo’ makes history on Billboard Afrobeats chart

Wizkid’s sixth studio album, ‘Morayo,’ continues to make history, becoming the first album to have all its songs chart on the Billboard Afrobeats chart for eight consecutive weeks.
This groundbreaking achievement highlights the album’s enduring appeal and solidifies Wizkid’s status as a global music icon.
All 16 tracks from ‘Morayo‘ retained their positions on the chart for the tracking week of January 25, 2025. Leading the way is ‘Piece of My Heart‘ featuring Brent Faiyaz, holding the No. 5 spot, while ‘Lose‘ rounds off the historic accomplishment at No. 45.

Since its release on November 22, 2025, ‘Morayo‘ has broken numerous records, including the biggest first-week streams on Spotify Nigeria and becoming the first album to have all songs garner over 500,000 opening-day streams on Spotify Nigeria.
‘Piece of My Heart,’ the album’s lead single, set a new opening-day streaming record on Spotify Nigeria before being surpassed by another track from the album, ‘Dance (Kese).’
The album, named in honor of Wizkid’s late mother, features guest appearances from Brent Faiyaz, Asake, Jazmine Sullivan, Tiakola, and Anaïs Cardot. Its success is not only a testament to Wizkid’s artistry but also to the global appeal of Afrobeats.
Wizkid celebrated the album’s release with performances at high-profile events, including the Oando End of the Year Party in Lagos, where he shared the stage with Davido and Burna Boy.
