‘Made In Lagos’ is the most streamed Nigerian album of all time on Apple Music
Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” album has claimed the top spot as the most successful Nigerian album on Apple Music. In celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, Apple Music released a special list highlighting the biggest Nigerian artists, songs, and albums to date.
To commemorate the occasion, Apple Music launched the ‘Oshe Naija’ initiative, a month-long celebration paying homage to the regions that have significantly shaped Nigerian music and contributed to its global influence.
As part of the festivities, Apple Music shared its top 10 most-streamed Nigerian albums of all time. Leading the list is Wizkid’s critically acclaimed “Made In Lagos,” released in 2020, which produced the international hit “Essence” featuring Tems. The track went on to win the 2022 BET Award for Best Collaboration.
Burna Boy secured the second and third spots with his Grammy-nominated albums “Love, Damini” and “African Giant.” Tems‘ ‘For Broken Ears‘ ranked fourth, making it the only project by a female artist and the only EP to feature on the list.
