With his recent achievement on the Billboard World Albums Chart, Ayodeji Balogun, better known by his stage as Wizkid, has once again written his name into history.

The Grammy-winning singer, who recently made headlines for becoming the first Nigerian artist to receive a diamond certification in the US courtesy of his feature on Drake’s “One Dance” which sold more than 10 million copies, has now accomplished yet another significant accomplishment.

In a new update, the singer’s fourth studio album, “Made in Lagos,” has now charted in the Billboard World Albums category for four consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023), spending over 100 weeks on the chart and making it the first African album to achieve such a feat.

    • Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” re-enters Billboard World Album Chart for its 110th week on the chart at #15.

    — The album becomes the first African album to appear in the chart in 4 different years:
    2020
    2021
    2022
    2023

Meanwhile, Nigerians are excited for Carterefe As he finally meets Wizkid.

In 2022, Carterefe dropped a single Machala in honour of his idol Wizkid and it was almost an instant hit.

On social media, Carter would refuse to let any insult to Wizkid slide even though he has never seen the singer in person.

After months of trolling, Carter ended 2022 on a high note as he finally got to meet the Bad To Me crooner at his concert in Lagos on December 30.

He shared a video of how Wizkid pulled him closer for a hug when he walked up to him backstage. An elated Efe wrote: ‘Began the Year Believing, Ending the year Achieving. Baba hug me This is a snippet of next year. CHARIS. God bless you @godson45.’
