    In a recent interview, Wizkid’s father, Alhaji Miniru Olatunji Balogun, thanked God for blessing him with a son who is as brilliant as the Grammy Award winner.

    In an interview, Wizkid’s father stated that he first arrived in Lagos in the year 1972 and that Alaba was completely dark at the time.

    When asked how he helped Alaba flourish, Wizkid’s father says that he used his power to get Nepa to conduct a survey of the entire community and provide lighting.

    He claimed to have plotted out, drafted and sketched the entire Alaba, which he then presented to the Nepa board and was approved. He went on to say that two weeks later, in 1972, they gave the entire Alaba light.

    Wizkid’s father revealed more about his personality, stating that he is the baba adeen of Alaba Central Mosque and a former APC chairman for 14 years.

    He ended by thanking God for his continued life and the continued success of his son, Wizkid.

    “I came to Ajegunle in 1972. And at that time there was no light in Alaba. So, I’m the one that went to NEPA and made them come to survey the whole of Alaba and gave them light. So, those are my contributions [to the community].

    “Also, I’m the Babadeen of Alaba Central Mosque. And also a former chairman of the APC for 14 years. I thank God that I’m still alive and my son, Wizkid is still doing well,” he said.
