    Wizkid, Tems, others bag 2022 NAACP Image Award Nominations

    • Wizkid, Fireboy DML, Tiwa Savage, Tems, and Omah Lay are the only Nigerian artists to be nominated for the NAACP Image Award 2022.

    Wizkid earns two certifications in the UK

    For the first time ever, Tems earned a nomination for “Outstanding New Artist” for her 2021 album “If Orange Was a Place.” Wizkid, Fireboy DML, Tiwa Savage, and Omah Lay were all nominated for “Outstanding International Song.”

    NAACP Image Award nominations were released on Tuesday, and this year’s gala will include a wide variety of them. For the 53rd time, the NAACP Awards will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and telecast live on February 26.

    A statement from BET CEO Scott Mills: “The BET team is enormously thrilled to continue our connection with the NAACP and annual Image Awards, underlining our strong heritage of promoting black greatness.”
