Wizkid teases Lagos concert with new social media post
Following the release of his critically acclaimed sixth studio album, ‘Morayo,’ Nigerian superstar Wizkid has set the rumour mill spinning with a social media post hinting at a potential concert in Lagos this December.
This would mark his first headline performance in the city in over two years.
On November 26, 2024, Wizkid shared a cryptic post on his Instagram, featuring a picture of himself with the caption, “Lagos December.” The simple yet powerful message has sent fans into a frenzy, speculating that the Grammy-nominated artist may be gearing up for a highly anticipated live performance in Lagos.

The excitement comes on the heels of the successful release of ‘Morayo,’ which has already made waves on streaming platforms, breaking multiple records on Spotify.
The album achieved a major milestone by becoming the album with the highest opening day streams by a Nigerian artist. ‘Morayo‘ features 16 tracks, including collaborations with several global stars such as Afrobeats sensation Asake, French artists Tiakola and Anais Cardot, as well as American stars Jasmine Sullivan and Brent Faiyaz.
Should the concert in Lagos come to fruition, it would be Wizkid’s first major show in the city since 2022, when he headlined one of the Flytime Fest events.
There will undoubtedly be added intrigue, as the artist had previously promised that his 2022 performance would be his last paid concert in Lagos. Fans are eager to see if he will follow through on that pledge or if his return to the city will mark a new chapter in his live performances.
Following the success of ‘Morayo,’ which has continued to garner attention, Wizkid is expected to embark on a tour. It seems fitting that Lagos could be the first city to experience the live debut of his latest musical offering.
As fans eagerly await confirmation of the concert, the buzz surrounding Wizkid’s upcoming December performance promises to make it one of the most talked-about events in Lagos this year.
