Big Wiz becomes the longest-charting African artiste on Billboard.
Nigerian award-winning singer-songwriter and performer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, has set a new career record on the Billboard chart.
The singer broke the US record for two colossal milestones on the official music chart, Billboard.
The US music chart platform recently announced Big Wiz’s global hit “Essence” which features Tems as the longest-charting African song.
The Starboy Entertainment boss is currently setting a new record in Africa’s music industry on the international stage with this new record and achievement.

He is well-known for taking risks and introducing sounds at his own pace and is widely regarded as the blueprint for many newcomers and the Nigerian music industry as a whole.
After nine months of release, “Essence” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 82 and enjoyed an impressive run which saw it peak at number 9, making it the only Nigerian record ever to break into the Billboard Hot 100 top 10.
Starboy’s fourth studio album “Made In Lagos” was also announced as the longest-charting African album as it has spent over 67 weeks on the Billboard world albums chart.
Altogether, the two feats make the Award-winning singer, the longest-charting African artiste on Billboard.
