Wizkid Receives Gold Certification in the United States for the Third Time.
Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has received another gold certification for a record in the United States.
The Grammy Award-nominated singer, whose song “Come Closer,” featuring Canadian heavyweight rapper Drake, was the first to receive a gold certification in the US, built on that momentum with “Essence,” featuring Tems (which has since gone platinum), and on Monday, August 8th, 2022, the singer added another gold with Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl,” in which he and Blue-Ivy Carter were featured.
Brown Skin Girl” is a single from the ‘Lion King: The Gift album‘, which was produced by Beyonce. It has officially sold over 500,000 units in the United States.

In other news, Mp3bullet.ng reported that ‘Made in Lagos‘ album by Wizkid has now sold 500 thousand units in the United States earning him another certification.
The Afrobeats king launched the album (his fourth studio album) on October 30th, 2020, and it is still generating waves two years later.
Since its debut, the album has had over 140 million streams on Audiomack, over 40 million streams on Boomplay, over 20 million streams on Pandora, 322 million streams on Apple Music, 229 million streams on Spotify, 227 million streams on YouTube, and over 20 million streams on Pandora, totalling over 1 billion streams on digital service providers (DSPs)
The album was certified Silver in the U.K, in the early months of 2022, after selling over 60,000 units and is now certified Gold in the U.S for reaching 500,000 units of sales.
