Wizkid announces potential release date for new album ‘Morayo’
Nigerian superstar Ayodeji Balogun Ibrahim, popularly known as Wizkid, has hinted at a potential release date for his highly anticipated new project. The singer might finally be dropping his new album in less than a month.
Wizkid’s last studio album, “More Love, Less Ego,” released in 2022, did not receive the expected reception, leading to heightened anticipation for his next body of work.
The upcoming project will be his sixth studio album and comes on the heels of notable 2024 features, including his collaboration on Bob Marley’s “One Love” album and DJ Tunez’s “Apala Disco (Rmx),” which has become a crowd favorite.
The new album, titled “Morayo,” has been announced multiple times, and Wizkid has now revealed that it will be a tribute to his late mother, whom he lost in 2023.
As excitement builds, the Starboy Entertainment leader took to his social media on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, to suggest that fans can expect something by October 1st, 2024—Nigeria’s Independence Day.
He teased the release date with the cryptic message: “On the day of independence, the truth shall set us free RRR.”
While Wizkid has a history of announcing release dates and then delaying them, fans are hopeful that this time he will follow through and deliver on the promised date.
The potential release has stirred excitement among his fanbase, who are eagerly waiting to see what the Starboy has in store for them.
