Grammy Award–winning Afrobeats star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has finally responded to Seun Kuti following days of heated exchanges that have dominated social media.

The clash began after Seun Kuti, son of the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, suggested that Wizkid would no longer prosper in life unless he removed a tattoo of Fela from his hand.
The comment came amid an ongoing feud between Wizkid and his fan base, widely known as Wizkid FC.
Seun, during a series of Instagram Live sessions that stretched over several days, repeatedly criticised Wizkid FC, describing them as ignorant for comparing Wizkid to his late father. In the process, he also made controversial remarks, including cursing the parents of some fans, further intensifying the backlash.
After maintaining silence for a while, Wizkid eventually broke it with a series of sharp remarks. The singer reportedly lashed out at Seun Kuti, calling him derogatory names and going as far as claiming that he is bigger than Fela a statement that immediately sparked outrage and deeper controversy.
Seun Kuti responded swiftly, firing back with personal jabs. He mocked Wizkid’s height, accused him of being depressed, and claimed the singer had lost touch with his cultural roots. He also took a swipe at Wizkid’s live performance record, alleging that he had not shut down stadiums in recent times.
Reacting strongly to Wizkid’s comment about being bigger than Fela, Seun doubled down on his earlier claim, insisting that Wizkid would never succeed again unless he removed the Fela tattoo from his body.
Wizkid, however, appeared unfazed. Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Essence crooner dismissed Seun Kuti entirely, suggesting the exchange was beneath him.
“Never go back and forth with a pig that lives in the mud. 2026 get yours! ❤️🦅,” Wizkid tweeted.
The post has since sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and observers divided as the long-running feud between the two figures shows no signs of cooling off.
