Wizkid Beams with Pride as His Son Champz Tops Apple Music Nigeria Chart with Debut EP

A heartwarming video of Grammy-winning superstar Wizkid proudly reacting to his son Boluwatife Balogun, professionally known as Champz, hitting No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria, is melting hearts online.
Recall that on November 11, 2025, Wizkid’s 14-year-old son made headlines with the surprise release of his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival — a five-track project featuring Champion Montana, Grind, Superstar, Champion Sound, and Champiano.
Within just hours of release, Champion’s Arrival soared straight to the top of the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums Chart, beating major projects like Fola’s Catharsis and Blaqbonez’s No Excuses.
Notably, the project is also charting in 16 countries on Apple Music, signalling Champz’s rapidly rising global appeal.
In the now-viral clip, Wizkid was seen interacting with fans after attending a New York Knicks basketball game in the U.S. When one fan expressed excitement about Champz’s debut and said he couldn’t wait for a father-son collaboration, Wizkid’s face lit up instantly.
Beaming with pride, the superstar responded joyfully, saying:
“We love it man, he’s my kid you know!”
The brief but touching exchange captured a rare glimpse of Wizkid’s softer side, a proud father moment that fans can’t stop talking about. Online, many have hailed the video as “pure joy,” with others calling it a “full-circle moment” for the Balogun legacy.
With Champion’s Arrival already making waves, it’s clear the next generation of the Starboy dynasty is stepping confidently into the spotlight, and Wizkid couldn’t be happier.
