Nigerian Superstar Wizkid takes the lead of the most nominated Nigerian artist for this year’s edition of the All Africa Music Awards, (AFRIMA) 2021 nominees.
Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun who is professionally known as Wizkid sometimes stylized Big Wiz or Starboy grabbed the most nominated artist for the year’s edition of the All Africa Music Awards, (AFRIMA) 2021.
The All Africa Music Awards which is also referred to as AFRIMA is an award show that rewards and celebrates musical works, talents, and creativity around the African continent while promoting the African cultural heritage.
The complete list was announced on September 23, 2021.
Leading with six nominations, Big Wiz was nominated in Best Male West Africa, Best Album for Made in Lagos, and Artist of the Year categories.

Along with Tems, his global smash tune ‘Essence’ earned him nominations for Song of the Year, Best African Collab, and Best Duo in African R&B.
Starboy was not the only Nigerian musician to receive an AFRIMA 2021 nomination.
Four nominations were given to Davido, Omah Lay, and Patoranking.
Burna Boy, Tems, Tiwa Savage, Olakira, Bella Shmurda, and Vector, on the other hand, each received three nominations at this year’s event.
Two nominations were given to Yemi Alade, Ladipoe, and the Isomers.
