Wizkid’s missed performance in Abidjan causes another social media uproar.
Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, is trending for the wrong reasons again after missing another performance in less than 24 hours after being called out by his Abidjan fans.
The award-winning musician was scheduled to play in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and Cotonou, Benin Republic, on the same day, December 11, 2022, but only one of the cities got to see him.
After facing intense criticism the previous day for missing his Ghana show, the starboy entertainment frontline act has suffered the same fate after missing his show in Abidjan.
According to several reports and reactions all over social media, the Nigerian megastar was supposed to be in Abidjan at 6 p.m., but six hours later, he was no where to be found. However, the singer performed at the Cotonou event, which was scheduled for 11 p.m.

Reacting to the disappointment, the organizers of the show, Livehub issued an apology letter while promising to refund people’s money.
In a new turn, Starboy himself has issued an apology to his Ghanaian fans and stated safety and production issues barred him from performing.
He shared a release on his social media pages, promising the fans he will make it up to them.
The release in part reads, “… Y’all know I would never do anything without a serious reasoning behind it. My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologise to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was charged up, looking forward to doing this show. However, please understand that every decision i made co-sided with honouring my fans, and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do and I had to.
“Unfortunately, up until the day of this show, there continued to be safety and production issues that prevented me from putting on a high quality show that my fans deserve…”
