Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage make Forbes Africa’s Top 20 musicians’ list

Wizkid, Burna Boy named on Forbes Africa’s Top 20 musicians list.
Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have been named among the Top 20 musicians in Africa by Forbes, joining entertainers from South Africa, Tanzania, Congo, and the Republic of Benin.
The trio made the list along with four other Nigerian performers, according to an article on the Forbes website.
The business publication remarked that African music is receiving well-deserved international acclaim.
“It is clear that African music is getting the recognition it deserves and the continent’s distinctive sounds are taking the world by storm, this includes Amapiano, Afropop, Afrobeat, Gengetone and more.”
Other Nigerian singers included in the list are Tiwa Savage, Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia, Mr Eazi and KDDO.
According to Forbes; ”The music emanating out of Africa today is record-breaking in every sense. with the new sounds, there have been new pathways to success for African artists. these creators have taken everything from Amapiano to Afrobeats and told the African growth story, in decibels that have made the world sit up.
Even as more Grammy awards find a home on the continent, these top 20 musical artists are on track to deliver more. together they say that the future of the African music industry is big, bright and bountiful.”
South Africa’s Master KG, Black Koffee, DJ Maphorisa; Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny, Nasty C, and Congolese singer, Fally Ipupa were also listed.

Similarly, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Omotola Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Funke Akindele-Bello, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Mr Eazi, made the Forbes Africa Icons list in 2021.
Director-General of the World Trade Organization, WTO, and Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala also featured on the list.
According to Forbes, the list is a way of “celebrating those whose ideas, inventions, and influential role models have aided Africa’s growth over the last decade.”
Taking to its handle, @Forbesafrica, wrote;“This is a way of celebrating those also with the award-winning ideas that had defined the African continent and influential role models that have spelt Africa’s growth over the last decade.”
