These are the Wizkid, Davido & Burna Boy best international collaborations.
Over the past decade, Nigerian music has become one of the nation’s largest exports and its musicians have spun afrobeats into a global sound, and these are the Wizkid, Davido & Burna Boy best international collaborations.
Some of these artistes have made their way to the global music scene either by releasing a one-hit track that received wide appraisal by an international audience, hence giving premium recognition to the artistes brand.
Sam Smith ft. Burna Boy – My Oasis (2020)
In the thick of a lockdown, British singer Sam Smith released a slow-burning love record, featuring Burna Boy. Written by Jimmy Napes, both artists combine their unique vocals to deliver a timeless record.
“This track has been a beautiful release of emotions for me during this time,” Sam Smith said in a statement. “I’ve been a fan of for years now and am so happy to have a tune with him.
Dave feat. Burna Boy – Location (2019)
A classic Summer anthem, Dave’s “Location” is the lightest song off his 2019 opus Psychodrama, filled with technical rap shows and vivid imagery steeped in uncomfortable real-life experiences.
Burna Boy brings some Afro Pop credence to Dave’s party-themed bars and “Location,” given its replay value, has become perhaps the most memorable Dave record.
Stormzy Feat. Ed Sheeran & Burna Boy – Own It (2019)
Set to appear on “Real Life” off Twice As Tall, Stormzy enjoys a great relationship with Burna Boy, although “Own It” is the first song between both.
A Summer classic, “Own It” followed the massive success of Burna’s fourth album African Giant and also served as the first single off Stormzy’s own project, Heavy Is The Head.
Pop Smoke feat. Burna Boy – Enjoy Yourself [Remix] (2020)
American Drill superstar Pop Smoke passed at the age of 20, ending a life and career that was headed for greatness.
However, family and friends have made efforts to immortalize him, and one of such is the release of his first posthumous album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon which featured iconic artists and buzzing names like 50 Cent and Roddy Ricch.
On the deluxe, Nigerian stars Davido and Burna Boy feature, the latter putting in an impressive shift with his rapping on “Enjoy Yourself,” a chill bop driven by the baritones of Pop and Burna.
Jorja Smith feat. Burna Boy – Be Honest (2019)
British R&B and Pop artist Jorja Smith collaborated on African Giant’s “Gum Body,” a fan favorite which flexed Burna’s prowess with romantic bops.
The favor was then returned on (again, a love duet) “Be Honest,” released weeks after AG.
It was the singer’s first single after the Grammy-nominated album Lost & Found (2018).
In June, the song went platinum in France, hours after it was announced that Burna Boy had topped Billboard’s list of 15 Sub-Saharan African artists, based on global views.
Major Laser feat. Burna Boy – All My Life (2018)
Major Lazer has long revealed an interest in the sounds coming out of Africa. Two years ago, they concretized this with the release of Africa Is The Future, a tape which featured some of the best artists from Africa.
Burna Boy –who since then has featured on Beyoncé’s tape similarly, on a track of his own– featured on that tape, on “All My Life,” a gritty record which espoused on his unique life experiences (“before I turned twenty one I was already savaged out), sung authoritatively over the electronic flourishes of Major Lazer.
Drake ft. Wizkid – One Dance
This combo came after Drizzy appeared on Wizkid’s Ojuelegba remix in 2014.

Beyonce ft. Blu Ivy, Wizkid, SaiNt JHN – Brown Skin Girl
Wizzy and Beyonce have also produced an ever-green single which is arguably Wizkid’s best collabo ever.
It came off Beyonce’s 2019 soundtrack album The Lion King. The music video won Wizkid his first-ever Grammy and a couple of other credible awards.
Wizkid ft. Drake – Come Closer
On this one, Wizzy lends Drake’s vocals a year after he appeared on his One Dance tune.
As a matter of fact, this is the song that gave Wizkid his first 100million streams on YouTube.
Wizkid ft. Chris Brown – African Bad Gyal
Also, we have Wizzy and Chris Brown who came through with this track as their second collaboration in 2017.
Exclusively, the title alone speaks of the audacity it gnashed through our headphones.
Skepta ft. Wizkid – Energy (Wizkid international collaborations)
The British-Nigerian rapper and Wizkid launched this beautiful combo in 2018. Still one of my favorite between the duo.
Also, this collabo happened after Skepta appeared on Ojuelegba remix in 2014.

Blow My Mind- Davido feat Chris Brown
It sounds like a Davido song and like a Chris Brown song as well; the chemistry is that good. It then pushed the song to the number three position on the World Digital Billboard charts on the 9th of August, 2019.
In fact, the chemistry must have been so good that Chris Brown also recruited Davido for a verse on his ‘Lower Body’ released later that same year.
Fans Mi – Davido feat. Meek Mill
This collaboration marked Davido’s entry into the Western scene and Billboard Charts.
On ‘Fans Mi,’ Davido adopted a rapper-singer persona which set the pace for Meek Mill’s flow and also matched it.
The song was trailed by quite the controversy, from the scene with white flour that got the NDLEA talking to Meek Mill’s feud with Drake at that time. All these however served to make it more intriguing.
The Sound – Davido feat Uhuru & DJ Buckz
This is another international exchange between Nigeria and South Africa with Davido, Uhuru, and DJ Buckz as respective representatives.
Davido’s vibrant singing blended perfectly with the house music instrumentals and Uhuru and DJ Buckz also held the ball up.
‘The Sound’ was another instant hit and Davido had all of Africa dancing to this one.
D & G – Davido feat Summer Walker
Unlike ‘Blow My Mind’ which was the fourth single off his ‘A Good Time Album,’ with Chris Brown whom he already had a relationship with, no one saw this collaboration coming.
‘D & G’ may be an unexpected marriage of sounds but with it, music lovers find bliss as they first croon along with Davido, sweet singly with Summer, and then go on a vocal roller coaster with the former.
Risky – Davido & Popcaan
‘Risky’ makes the 5th single off ‘A Good Time,’ Davido’s second studio album, but is the second time Popcaan and Davido worked together.
The first being Popcaan’s ‘Dun Rich.’ It is an easy summer jam with a dancehall flavour that’ll have you whining unprovoked and another record that showcases Davido’s skills at fusing sounds.
Pere – Davido feat. Rae Sremmurd & Young Thug
With ‘Pere,’ Davido took the Nigerian flag into an Atlanta trap house and hoisted it high.
‘Pere’ might come with an impressive lineup of three rappers, yet despite this, Davido’s input was not number four.
