Wizkid Applauds Angélique Kidjo & Black Coffee on Their Grammy Victories.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, has congratulated Angelique Kidjo and Black Coffee on their Grammy wins.
Angelique Kidjo, a 61-year-old Beninese singer, won a Grammy for Best Global Music Album at the 64th Grammy Awards on April 3, 2021, defeating Nigerian sensation Big WIz and others who were nominated in that category.
Black Coffee, a South African DJ, also made history by being the first African DJ to win a Grammy Award for best dance/electronic album.
Wizkid, who lost in two categories at the 2022 Grammy Awards, on, April 5th, 2022, took to his Instagram page to send congratulatory messages to both Angelique Kidjo and Black Koffee, who are African representatives.

He applauded the two Grammy award winners on their achievements, and for shining light on the continent of Africa.
He wrote:

His statement follows protests by colleagues and fans who believe he deserved to win awards in the two categories he appeared as a nominee.
