Wizkid, whose real name is Ayo Ibrahim Balogun, has reached a new milestone on Spotify.
On the music streaming platform Spotify, the Afrobeats poster-boy, who has recently been in the news for various reasons, has surpassed ten million monthly listeners.
Aside from that, he is the most streamed African musician on Spotify. On Spotify, he has a total of 10,065,700 monthly listeners.

In other news, American Magazine, Rollingstone revealed details on how Justin Bieber came to be on the remix of Wizkid’s “Essence”
According to the magazine, Justin Bieber’s A&R Tay James introduced him to the song on a vacation trip, and it immediately became the singer’s favourite tune, to the point where they played it all weekend.
Tay James took a major step by chatting with Mike G, Wizkid’s North American agent, about the possibility of Justin Bieber singing on the song.
This led to the birth of Essence remix, the song was released on August 13, 2021, as part of the extra songs released on the Deluxe version of the “Made In Lagos” album.
