After months of growing anticipation, Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Asake have officially released the first installment of their collaborative project, ‘Real EP Vol. 1.’
The four-track extended play arrived on January 26, 2026, following the explosive debut of its lead single, ‘Jogodo,’ which dropped on January 16.

The single acted as a perfect teaser for the project, drawing massive attention and dominating conversations across major streaming platforms.
Both artists announced the EP simultaneously through their social media pages. Although the project was originally scheduled for release in late December 2025, fans had to wait a little longer before finally getting their hands on the full body of work.
‘Jogodo’ captures the chemistry between the two stars, seamlessly merging Wizkid’s silky, melodic delivery with Asake’s raw, high-energy street sound. The blend results in a dynamic track that feels equally at home in laid-back moments and high-tempo settings.
To mark the release, Wizkid and Asake shared a joint promotional video on Instagram, captioned in Yoruba: “Real EP Vol. 1 ti jade bayi,” which translates to “Real EP Vol. 1 is out now.”
The EP features four tracks:
- Turbulence
- Jogodo
- Iskolodo
- Alaye

Both artists continue to enjoy remarkable success individually. Wizkid remains one of Africa’s most influential music exports, with ‘Morayo,’ released in 2024, finishing as the most-streamed album on Apple Music Nigeria in 2025.
Asake has also sustained his dominance, with ‘Why Love’ emerging as Apple Music Nigeria’s most-streamed song of 2025.
With Real EP Vol. 1, Wizkid and Asake further solidify their creative alignment, presenting a project that feels like a natural extension of their evolving musical partnership—and possibly just the beginning of what’s to come.
