Wizkid admits that growing up in Ojuelegba molded him.

Wizkid, real name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, has claimed that his upbringing in Ojuelegba, Lagos, helped to mould him into the person he is now.

He said this while speaking with Olugbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave, who inquired about his musical background and where it all began.

Wizkid is a brand ambassador for Flutterwave, a provider of payment solution services in the financial technology industry.

The Grammy-winning artist stated it was a difficult location to grow up as a child when recalling his early career in the music business while in Ojuelegba.

According to the Starboy Entertainment CEO, he had a dream of always making music and taking it from Lagos to the world.

He explained that he was in a situation where he always had to prove himself to the people that matter in the industry.

Wiz said that he is just starting and now that they have been let in, there is no going back.

Meanwhile, Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji, has revealed that his working relationship with Wizkid helped him in the early stages of his career.

The YBNL boss, made the statement during an interview on Apple Music Africa, as he reminisced on their cordial relationship.

Olamide said at the time he collaborated with Wizkid, he had left his record label, Coded Tunes, so it was Wiz and his former boss, Banky W, founder of EME that were supporting him.

According to the ‘Wo’ crooner, the collaboration gave him an edge and made things easier for him in the industry.

It may be recalled that Big Wiz and Baddo worked together on the song “Omo Toh Shan” when he just left Coded Tunes to stand alone.
