Why Nigerian songs doesn’t reign for so long again

This is why Nigerian music doesn’t reign for so long again

The life duration of a successful song has significantly decreased, in contrast to the past when it could endure close to a year in the business, and this is why Nigerian music doesn’t reign for so long again.

Only a select few musicians in Nigeria’s music industry have the difficult skill of remaining consistent after making their debut because right if you snooze you will be easily forgotten based on the short span of hit records in the industry.

it’s not easy to break into the Nigerian music industry, and it’s even more difficult to build a good career and stay in the spotlight over time

    This has happened both in the Nigerian music industry and globally, and here are the factors to consider before we move further;

Why Nigerian music doesn't reign for so long again
Why Nigerian music doesn’t reign for so long again
    • The emergence of too many musicians
    • Digital streaming services
    • Obsessions for numbers record (stats)
    • Lots of Releases

To determine whether there has been a decline in the calibre of songs, albums or extended playlists that Nigerian artistes release, all that is necessary is a thorough understanding of the changing standards in the Nigerian music industry and the capacity to pay attention and analyze a musical project.

Nigerian music is still spreading beyond its borders and even into other continents, where it has staked claims on the top charts around the world.

One would think that as our music continues to gain popularity around the world, local initiatives will follow a similar trajectory, but sadly, that’s not the case.

There have been many works of art released in 2022, but only a select few have truly resonated with listeners.

Numerous factors have contributed to the declining quality of Nigerian projects, but the cause is still unclear.

The lack of a suitable creative direction and excessive rollout plans have had an impact on several initiatives.

However, one must also be aware that since the start of this decade, standards have dramatically risen and too many artistes have resurfaced in the music industry.

However, it should be emphasized that music listeners’ attention spans are getting shorter by the day, and making it simple to switch between options hasn’t helped.

It is still unclear if this is because there were so many songs and projects launched quickly or because they lacked the replay value of the aforementioned songs and projects.
