Here is why Don Jazzy stopped doing giveaway
Mavin Record label boss Michael Collins Ajereh, known professionally as Don Jazzy, recently disclosed why he stopped conducting giveaways online during a conversation with a fan on the popular microblogging platform X.
The renowned music producer cited criticism from people on the platform, who also called for the act to be banned, as the reason behind his decision.
This revelation came in response to a fan who speculated that the hardship in the country might be the reason Don Jazzy had ceased his generous giveaways. The fan, identified as Temi, recalled that Don Jazzy used to give N200,000 each to 10 people, especially those in the crypto or tech fields, as he had a particular fondness for them.
Temi’s post read: “When things still good, @DONJAZZY go Don give like 10 people 200k each. If you con talk one thing about his artiste Wey burst his head. Na like 500k. If you con like tech or crypto, forget na 1m.”
Responding to this, Don Jazzy clarified that his financial situation remains stable but felt compelled to stop the giveaways due to the collective sentiment on X. He explained, “GOD dey so things good. But I thought all of us on twitter agreed that I should stop doing giveaway. Say make them bandam 🤷🏾♂️.”
Don Jazzy’s response highlights the impact of public opinion on his decision-making process regarding his philanthropic activities on social media.
