Orezi Reveals Why He Stepped Back From the Music Spotlight

Nigerian Afrobeats artist Orezi, widely known for hits like Ogede, has candidly opened up about why his presence in the music scene diminished over the years.
In a recent interview on Hip TV’s Trending, the singer admitted that a lack of ambition and becoming too comfortable with his early success were key reasons for his career slowdown.
“I faded out because I became less ambitious and comfortable with where I am,” Orezi confessed. “I was always on vacation, enjoying myself. I took myself out of the competition.”
The artist emphasized that competition breeds consistency, a factor he believes is vital in staying relevant in the ever-evolving music industry. He pointed to Davido as the perfect example of relentless work ethic.
“Look at Davido,” Orezi said. “He hustles like an underground artist. He already has money and fame, but still maintains that hunger.”
Orezi’s honest reflection serves as a reminder of how quickly the spotlight can shift in the Nigerian music industry and how grit, drive, and consistency are just as important as talent for long-term success.
