Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has shared his opinion about the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show, noting it should be about providing solutions to the challenges plaguing the nation.
This was said in a recent interview with Gbenga Aborowa of Spade TV Africa, where he participated as a guest speaker and the two talked about Africa’s role in the UN.
According to Kuti, rather than being a mere source of entertainment, the show should have utilized its massive platform to address and provide solutions to critical issues plaguing Nigeria.
During their conversation,He emphasized that the yearly BBNaija show should av has been tailored to promote Nigeria’s development.
In his words:
“Big Brother Naija is the way it is because of the Investment that is put in it. It was designed by certain people to be that way. The people that designed Big Brother could have decided that it would be a show where young people discuss the issue of the country and come up with solutions and other young people and viewers can vote on the best solution.”
That means that the people going from entertainment to solutions and national development, they’re investing in solutions for national development.”
