“We Gave It Our Best” – 2Baba breaks silence on Annie Macaulay split, Sparks Debate with Bold Comment on Male Sexuality

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has finally broken his silence regarding his highly publicized separation from actress and longtime partner Annie Macaulay.
The African Queen crooner addressed the topic during a recent appearance on a podcast hosted by media personality Nedu, where he shared insight into the end of their marriage without casting blame or going into contentious details.
“I think both of us gave it our best,” 2Baba said. “Why we’re not together today is not something I’m going to start talking about here in public. Me and her, we get our understanding. She’s amazing, like I said earlier. It just wasn’t working no more. That’s just it.”
When asked directly whether the collapse of the marriage was due to his actions or Annie’s, the singer remained guarded:
“That one na something wey don happen. That’s why I say I no go talk that one here.”

Their relationship, often under the media spotlight, was widely followed by fans, from their romantic beginnings to their emotional moments on the Netflix series Young, Famous & African.
Despite previous turbulence, 2Baba’s tone in the interview was measured, expressing admiration for Annie while maintaining a strong stance on keeping personal matters private.
However, another part of the conversation has stirred major controversy. While discussing relationships and fidelity, 2Baba made a provocative statement about male sexuality that quickly went viral.
“A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. A man can love one woman die, but it’s impossible for a man to sexually be with one woman only. It’s the biology of man,” he claimed.

The statement immediately sparked a storm of reactions across social media. While some hailed his remark as “raw honesty,” others condemned it as a justification for infidelity, arguing that commitment and love should be inseparable in a healthy relationship.
2Baba, long known for his openness about his struggles and romantic history, is once again at the center of public debate. His recent comments have reignited conversations about love, loyalty, and societal expectations both in celebrity marriages and everyday relationships.
