Watch As Seun Kuti Narrates His Ordeal In Police Detention.
Seun Kuti, a well-known artist from Nigeria, has discussed and recounted his experience while in police custody.
Seun Anikulapo Kuti spoke candidly about the time he spent in jail and police detention after being arrested for assaulting a police officer during an Instagram live session on social media.
The renowned Afrobeat musician was detained and charged with violating Section 356 of the Criminal Code Act by assaulting a police officer. Despite being granted bail on May 16, 2023, when Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun ordered police to wrap up their investigation within 48 hours, the singer wasn’t released until today, May 23, 2023.
Following his release, the musician travelled out of the country to meet up with his Europe Tour, where he discussed his stint in police detention.
Despite this, the singer stated he still prefers to be in the company of prisoners than to be in the company of politicians.
In his words, “Dem put me for hard cold floor, in the midst of prisoners still better than sitting in the devils house with politicians.”

Recall, Seun claimed during an Instagram live that Tunde Ednut asked him not to return from prison because he had paid for 10 postings to be promoted on Tunde’s website two years prior, but only managed to post one out of 10, even though he was aware that another project was about to drop.
He continued by claiming that Ednut is the only blogger in Nigeria with whom he communicates, therefore he can’t hold anything against him in favor of maintaining his relationship with his brother.
