Wande Coal reveals what fans should expect from his upcoming album.
Nigerian heavyweight artist, Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal, has revealed what his fans should anticipate on his upcoming album, ‘Legend or No Legend‘
The heavyweight vocalist is positive that his new album will be something out of the ordinary.
‘Legend or No Legend,’ the award-winning falsetto vocalist’s third album and fourth project, was originally scheduled to be released on March 31st, 2023. However, the singer postponed the release date twice before announcing a new official date for the drop: May 18.
In a recent interview with Dada Boy Ehiz on Apple Music Africa Now Radio, The “Mushin To Mo’Hits” hitmaker revealed what fans may expect from the album. The 13-track record, according to the award-winning vocalist, takes a unique, unusual, and out-of-the-box approach. He stated:
Special, different, outside the box, away from this universe it’ll make sense, pretty much. With the album, the energy is [that] I’m inspiring others. I’m inspiring a lot of people to wake up, fight for themselves and be better people for themselves.
During the recent interview with Dada Boy Ehiz on Apple Music Africa Now RadioWande Coal said that he was inspired to title the record “Legend or No Legend” after a Twitter disagreement centred on his position in the Nigerian music business.
The 37-year-old musician claims that the title was inspired by the dialogue that took place that day on the bird app, and he wants it known that the status conversation doesn’t affect him in the slightest because all he wants to do is produce music.
He said:
You know I’m not always on social media like that but there was a certain day I just noticed my phone was buzzing. I just didn’t understand so I went through my phone and it was on Twitter. Somebody had said ‘“Is it right to call Wande Coal a legend?” And it turned into a problem.
I just didn’t have it, I just put “Legend or no legend, I just love making music” – that’s period – and that’s where I got the inspiration from. It’s good fun to ask so that through my music I can show them what I do.
