Rapper Wale calls Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’ one of the greatest songs ever
American-Nigerian rapper Wale has praised Burna Boy’s 2022 smash hit Last Last, calling it one of the greatest songs ever written. Taking to his X account, Wale expressed admiration for the track, echoing the sentiments of many fans who regard it as a timeless Afrobeats anthem.
Released as one of the lead singles from Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated sixth album Love, Damini, Last Last blends Afrobeats with UK Garage and Dancehall influences.
The song narrates a heartbreaking breakup, with many speculating it references Burna Boy’s past relationship with Jamaican-British rapper Stefflon Don.
Its relatable lyrics, particularly the viral phrase “Everybody go chop breakfast,” resonated deeply with listeners, fueling its commercial success.
Last Last spent multiple weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned an RIAA platinum certification. With 477 million Spotify streams, it remains Burna Boy’s most-streamed song as a lead artist.
