Bayern Munich bombshell! Relegated Burnley boss Vincent Kompany set to become Harry Kane’s new manager in shock appointment
Bayern Munich is reportedly on the verge of appointing relegated Burnley boss Vincent Kompany as the successor to Thomas Tuchel in a remarkable move.
According to The Telegraph, the Bundesliga giants are engaged in advanced discussions to bring Kompany on board as their new manager, with a formal announcement expected in the coming days. However, Bayern will need to compensate Burnley, as Kompany is under contract with the Clarets until 2028.
The report also suggests that Kompany plans to bring his entire coaching staff from Burnley to the Allianz Arena, including assistant manager Craig Bellamy and first-team coaches Piet Cremers, Mike Jackson, and Floribert N’Galula.
Kompany retired from professional football in 2020 after a decorated career, winning four Premier League titles as captain of Manchester City. He transitioned into management, leading Belgian side Anderlecht for three years before joining Burnley in 2022. In his debut season, he guided Burnley to the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League, but they were relegated after just one season in the top flight, finishing 19th in the 2023–24 campaign.
Following a trophyless season and a third-place finish in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich will look to Kompany, a former Premier League legend, to revitalize the club’s fortunes.
