Victor Osimhen scoops Best Foreign Athlete award in Italy.
Victor Osimhen, the hot-shot striker for the Super Eagles, won the title of Best Foreign Athlete in Italy for 2022 less than 48 hours after being nominated for the Serie A Player of the Month award for February.
Osimhen was overjoyed when he accepted his Italian Press Award from club president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Monday in Rome.
The Nigerian international has dominated the top scorers’ list in Serie A this season with 19 goals.
Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has added a new award to his collection.
In recognition of his great performance with the Parthenopeans, the Nigerian received the Stampa Estera award for the best foreign athlete in Italy.
The Nigerian won the Power Horse Emerging Player of the Year Global Soccer Award after already winning the Serie A player of the month honour for January.
The 24-year-old has shown his merit for this accolade through his goal-scoring form for Luciano Spalletti’s team as they pursued the Serie A title.

In 21 domestic league games for the Neapolitan team this season, the former LOSC Lille player has scored 19 goals and provided four assists.
The Super Eagles talisman has distinguished himself as the best candidate for the award given by the Foreign Press Association in Italy. As a result of this outstanding performance, his club announced it through their social media website.

If Nigeria had qualified for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the forward could have had an opportunity to showcase his talents more widely.
The Nigerian is demonstrating his merit for more major awards, such as the African Player of the Year title and maybe the Ballon d’Or, as more international competitions approach.
