Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has broken his silence after his anticipated switch to Italian giants AC Milan collapsed over medical concerns.

The 24-year-old striker had travelled to Italy last week to complete a loan move from Bayer Leverkusen, with both clubs reaching an agreement for a €5 million loan fee and a €24 million buy option.

However, the deal fell apart on Sunday after Milan doctors reportedly raised red flags about his long-term fitness following extended medical checks.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the decision in a post on X, stating:
“AC Milan call Victor Boniface deal off as Nigerian striker did not pass the medical tests.”

Boniface, who has battled two major anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in the past along with persistent groin problems, has now returned to Germany to reunite with his Leverkusen teammates.

According to reports, this isn’t the first time Italian clubs have expressed doubts about his fitness—Roma were said to have earlier pulled out of a potential swap deal involving the Nigerian for similar reasons.

Reacting to the setback, Boniface took to social media on Sunday evening to vent his frustration at critics who questioned his commitment and professionalism.

    In his words:
“Boniface no serious, he dey everywhere. I dey club like Leverkusen and club like Milan want me and I no serious. So if I serious na club for Jupiter I go dey play.”

He ended his statement with a sharp rebuke:
“Clowns everywhere. If I no serious and I dey this level, make I remain like that.”

The Leverkusen striker’s response underlines his determination to push forward in his career despite the setback and silence those doubting his dedication.
