Released on August 9, 2024, “Lungu Boy” is Asake’s third album and features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American superstar Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmila.
On its opening day, “Lungu Boy” tallied a record-breaking 5.86 million streams on Spotify Nigeria, surpassing the previous record of 4.91 million streams held by Davido’s “Timeless.”
Globally, the album also set a new record for the biggest opening day streams for a Nigerian album on Spotify, amassing 9.2 million streams.
