American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs arrested amid trafficking allegations
American rapper Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy or Puff Daddy, has been arrested following an indictment by a grand jury. According to CNN, Combs was taken into custody on Monday, September 17, 2024, at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan. The arrest, carried out by Homeland Security Investigations, occurred at around 8:15 p.m.
Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, confirmed the arrest, stating, “Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY.” However, the details of the arrest remain undisclosed.
Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ attorney, suggested that the charges likely involve racketeering and sex trafficking.
This arrest follows a broader investigation into sex trafficking, which included raids on Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami earlier in the year.
P. Diddy has faced multiple sexual assault allegations, with the most recent lawsuit filed in May 2024 by fashion student April Lampros. In her lawsuit, Lampros alleges that in 1995, Combs initially lavished her with gifts and alcohol before taking her to his hotel room, where she claims he raped her after she became disoriented. She woke up the next morning “nude, sore, and confused.”
