Unai Emery receives the Premier League Manager of the Month honour for April.
Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for April.
The Villa manager had an amazing month, leading his team to five Premier League victories in seven games, including an outstanding 3-0 victory against Newcastle United on April 15 at Villa.
Since taking over for Steven Gerrard in November 2022, Emery has done a fantastic job with the Villans, bringing the team from the brink of relegation to a probable European qualifying spot at the conclusion of the 2022–23 season.
The Spanish coach was previously nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award in January and March of this year, but this is the first time he has taken home the award that he won. Emery previously served as the manager of Arsenal from May 2018 and November 2019. He is currently in the middle of his second tenure in the league.

Speaking about his team’s recent form ahead of their upcoming trip to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Emery said: “We were being very successful away and being very competitive away. We started with some doubts at home before the last five matches that we won.
“Now, it’s very different because at home we are feeling very strong, we are being very competitive, we are winning difficult matches and playing very well.
“Away, in the last three matches, we aren’t playing like we were before. We were being competitive but it wasn’t enough to get three points in Brentford, Manchester and Wolves. That is an issue I am working to analyse with the players.
“Overall, we are making very good progress, individually and collectively, as a team. I am going to try to get our best performance on Saturday.”
