Tyla confirms release date for her new album

South African music sensation Tyla has officially confirmed that her highly anticipated sophomore album will be released in 2025. This gives fans something to look forward to after the success of her debut project.
Tyla first made waves with her self-titled debut album, Tyla, which dropped on March 22, 2024. The album introduced audiences to her signature “popiano” sound—a fusion of pop and amapiano—and featured collaborations with global stars like Tems.
Building on that success, she released a deluxe edition, Tyla+, in October 2024, adding three new tracks, including Push 2 Start, which she performed at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. That night, she also won Best Afrobeats Video award for her smash hit Water.
While details about her upcoming project—such as the title and tracklist—remain under wraps, excitement is already building among fans eager to see how she will expand her sound.
Given her unique musical style and undeniable stage presence, Tyla’s next album is expected to make a major impact and further cement her place on the global music scene.

In other news, Tyla has reached a groundbreaking milestone, tying the record for the longest-charting album by an African female artist on the Billboard World Albums chart.
Her self-titled debut album, TYLA, has now spent an incredible 50 weeks on the chart, matching the legendary Cesária Évora, who set the record nearly four decades ago with her 1995 album, Cesária Évora, which lasted 66 weeks.
The album’s success has been largely driven by its breakout hit, Water, which became a global sensation, peaking at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning multi-platinum certifications across multiple countries.
