Afrobeat sensational artist Tyla has achieved her first platinum certification in the United States for her hit single “Water,” which has sold over 1 million units. This significant accomplishment follows the song’s earlier platinum certification in South Africa.
Tyla’s success with “Water” has brought her international recognition, earning her multiple nominations and exposure on a global scale. In 2023, she received nominations at prestigious awards ceremonies such as the African Entertainment Awards USA, MOBO Awards, South African Style Awards, and the Grammy Awards.

In other news, Tyla is set to perform at the Governors Ball Music Festival, an annual multi-day music event held in New York City. The festival, established in 2011, features a diverse lineup of music genres, including rock, electronic, hip-hop, indie, Americana, pop, folk, and more.
Scheduled for June 7th to June 9th at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, this year’s Governors Ball will see Tyla gracing the stage on the second day alongside other international acts like 21 Savage, Carly Rae Jepsen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sexyy Red.
