Tunde Ednut blows hot at Wizkid FC following release of latest song Dance, threatens to sue them
Popular entertainer and social media influencer Tunde Ednut has stirred controversy after openly criticizing Wizkid FC, the loyal fanbase of Afrobeat superstar Wizkid.
The backlash comes amid the fanbase’s fervent promotion of Wizkid’s newly released track ‘Dance,’ a hit single from his forthcoming album ‘Morayo.’
The song, which blends Wizkid’s signature Afrobeat sound with captivating rhythms, has dominated streaming platforms since its release, achieving widespread attention within hours.
Fans, in their characteristic show of support, have taken to various social media platforms to promote the track, flooding comment sections with reminders to stream and download the song.
However, Tunde Ednut seemed irked by these efforts, taking to his Instagram page to address the fanbase. In his post, he accused Wizkid FC of being overzealous in their promotional activities and warned them to tone down their approach.
“All my comments sections na ‘Dance Gbedu’ dem just dey write,” Tunde wrote. “Wizkid FCs, make una dey take una time. I’m trying to read comments and every 2 scrolls na ‘DANCE GBEDU’ comments. Na by force to dance? COME, make una dey dey careful o! Or else I go sue person Oo! And you will have to appear in court. Stop it. And the truth is, I no be some of una mates. Stop it or you shall be hearing from my lawyers.”
His post has sparked heated debates online, with many defending Wizkid FC’s enthusiasm as typical of devoted fans, while others agree with Tunde, citing that excessive promotion can be counterproductive.
Wizkid FC has yet to respond officially, but the exchange underscores the intensity of fan loyalty and the lengths supporters often go to in promoting their favourite artists.
