The Recording Academy has announced that Trevor Noah will return to host the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking his fifth consecutive year as the host of Music’s Biggest Night.

Trevor, who began hosting the Grammys in 2021, will also serve as a producer for the show, bringing his signature charm and wit to the global stage again.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air live on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

This year’s nominees are led by Beyoncé, who received an impressive 11 nominations for her country-inspired album “COWBOY CARTER.” Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone are closely followed by seven nominations each, while Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift each earned six nods.

The Nigerian music industry is well represented at the 2025 Grammys, particularly in the African Song Performance category, where Afrobeats stars dominate the nominations.

Tems leads the Nigerian contingent with three nominations: Best Global Album for her debut LP “Born In The Wild,” Best African Song Performance, and a groundbreaking nomination for Best R&B Performance for her single ‘Burning.’

Rema, aiming for his first Grammy win, earned nominations for Best Global Album with his sophomore project, “HEIS.” Yemi Alade celebrates her first Grammy nomination in the Best African Song Performance category, while Lojay also received his first nod for his contributions to Chris Brown’s “Sensational” alongside Davido.

Asake earned his second Grammy nomination for Best African Song Performance with “MMS” featuring Wizkid. Burna Boy, already a Grammy winner, secured his record-breaking 10th nomination for “Higher” in the same category.

The 66th Grammy Awards disappointed the Nigerian contingent as South African star Tyla won the maiden African Song Performance award. However, the upcoming ceremony promises brighter prospects for Nigeria, with at least one award virtually guaranteed to come home.
