Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid ‘confirmed’ as Liverpool star reaches agreement in principle with La Liga giants on long-term contract

Liverpool’s star right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, is set to make a sensational switch to Spanish giants Real Madrid at the end of the season, according to reports.
The England international has reached an agreement in principle to sign a five-year contract with Los Blancos once his current deal with Liverpool expires.
Sky Sports Switzerland reports that representatives of Alexander-Arnold, including his brother, held discussions with Real Madrid’s hierarchy and finalized terms for the move.
The deal will see the defender earn an annual salary of €15 million (£13m/$16m) in Madrid, a significant upgrade from his current wages at Anfield. Additionally, the contract includes lucrative performance-based incentives and a signing-on bonus.
Liverpool have made multiple attempts to secure a contract extension for their academy product, but the player has reportedly been keen on taking on a fresh challenge away from England.
Despite the club’s persistent efforts throughout the 2024-25 season, Alexander-Arnold appears set on departing once his contract concludes.
For now, the 26-year-old remains focused on helping Liverpool secure another Premier League title under Arne Slot. The Reds currently sit comfortably at the top of the table, holding a 12-point lead over second-placed Arsenal. Their next fixture sees them face fierce rivals Everton at Anfield on April 2.
If the move materializes, Alexander-Arnold will become the latest high-profile signing for Real Madrid, strengthening their squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
