Tottenham confirms Antonio Conte will miss the West Ham match following a surgical check-up.
Tottenham Hotspur will be without Antonio Conte for another Premier League match this weekend, as the manager returns to Italy to recover from gallbladder surgery.
Conte missed the 1-0 win over Manchester City but returned for the losses at Leicester City and Serie A champions AC Milan on Tuesday.
Before the Champions League match, the Spurs manager said that he had disregarded doctors’ orders to return to work at Tottenham, but has now decided to complete his rehabilitation in his own country.
On Sunday, when Spurs host rival West Ham in north London, Conte’s deputy Cristian Stellini will once more assume leadership.
The club statement read:
“Following a routine post-operation check in Italy yesterday, Antonio Conte will remain at his family home to recover from his recent surgery,” “Health is the most important consideration and everyone at the Club wishes him well. Cristian Stellini will assume First Team duties. “
