Tottenham confirm surprise deadline day signing of Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG as Thomas Frank revamps Spurs attack

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of French forward Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan.
Spurs confirmed the arrival of the 25-year-old on Monday, with the deal containing no option or obligation to buy. The France international has been handed the No. 39 shirt and is expected to provide much-needed depth to Ange Postecoglou’s attack.
Kolo Muani spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, where he made an immediate impact by scoring five goals in his first three Serie A games. He also featured at the Club World Cup, netting a brace in the Italian side’s opening match of the tournament.

The striker admitted he had hoped to stay in Turin, but no agreement could be reached with Juventus, paving the way for a move to North London instead.
“I’m really happy and very proud to be at such a great club. I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, all the fans and to get out on the pitch,” Kolo Muani told club media. “I know what the coach expects from me. I will fight hard for the shirt, the Club and the fans. I will give everything for this team.”
Spurs boss Thomas Frank welcomed the new signing, praising the forward’s versatility:
“He’s a good age, in the prime of his career, and has good qualities that will suit both us and the Premier League. He gives us a different option in the final third, being able to play out wide and through the middle. Randal is a quality player who has proven himself at the top level with club and country.”

Tottenham were determined to secure an attacking reinforcement before the transfer deadline, particularly with Dominic Solanke sidelined by an ankle injury. While summer signing Xavi Simons has boosted creativity, Postecoglou wanted a versatile forward with Champions League and international experience — qualities Kolo Muani brings in abundance.
Kolo Muani joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 for €90 million but struggled to establish himself in Luis Enrique’s starting XI. Despite limited club minutes, he has remained a regular for Didier Deschamps’ France squad.
The Frenchman is expected to be integrated quickly into Tottenham’s squad as they face a demanding schedule across domestic and European competitions. Spurs fans could see him make his debut in the Premier League clash against West Ham United on September 13.
