Ange Postecoglou confirmed as new Tottenham manager.
Ange Postecoglou has been officially named as Tottenham Hotspur new manager. Spurs have been on the hunt for a new boss ever since Antonio Conte left the club in March.
His assistant, Cristian Stellini, originally took over temporarily, but Ryan Mason served as interim manager for the remainder of the season in an effort to bring some stability back to the first team.
Behind the scenes, Tottenham considered a wide range of candidates, including Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, Luis Enrique, and Julian Nagelsmann, for the position of manager. However, they ultimately chose Postecoglou, who has signed a four-year contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play,” said chairman Daniel Levy. “He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our Club.
“We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead.”

After leading Celtic to a double last season after winning the Premiership and League Cup in his first season in charge, Postecoglou joins after two excellent years.
The 57-year-old, who manages in the Premier League for the first time as an Australian, has also lived briefly in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos and led the Australian national team from 2013 to 2017. He made an impression at the 2014 World Cup and resigned after the team qualified for the tournament in 2018.
Postecoglou will have the difficult challenge of rebuilding a Tottenham club that finished ninth in the Premier League last year and won’t participate in any European competition in 2019.
Hugo Lloris, the team’s captain and goalie, has admitted he wants to leave. Postecoglou will also have to deal with the growing rumours around the future of star player Harry Kane as Manchester United and Real Madrid prepare bids for the Englishman.
